“Stay Strong, Stay Supple, Move Young”
Guest: Dan Boomhower, Forever 39 Fitness
Body building or resistance training for me is not about ego and attraction, it is a reverent journey to become very connected to the miracles of the body. And turning this into a business is just utter joy!
Human beings are basically passive, and body building can be a much needed release for our aggressions – going from a real rush of oxygenated blood and mental focus, taking us to a very docile, amicable place – a “good tired.”
An athlete since my high school days, my career journey really was and continues to be about path finding. While I studied recreational management in college, the real education came via my constantly asking questions at the gym, pursuing certification, and self-study and personal experimentation with nutrition.
So many people misunderstand natural bodybuilding – drug and hormone free. This is not about muscle bulking, but how to stay strong, stay supple, and move young.
Being aware of our body fat is critical – ideal for men is under 15%, and for women, under 20% -- retaining or attaining more muscle mass through exercise and diet.
My goal is to keep people injury free.I have never met a person that did not need body building, nor didn’t benefit from it.You are only going to feel, look and act better.
Moving to my own facility from being an independent contractor trainer continues as a journey – realizing I am creating my own spirit-filled environment with a one-on-one focus, attracting clients committed to the same set of values and principles that I have.
My clients and I partner to create a private, custom workout environment with music, lighting, temperature control and my keeping track of all the equipment settings, cycles – the full process.
My focus now is to be able to relate to and serve my clients in a much deeper way – being comfortable where I am now in my own skin – understanding the psychology of personal change and growth and determining how to better serve their physical and emotional needs.
